Women of Valor are the Queens!

Congratulations to the 2021 Women’s National Champion “Rawlinson & Hunter Women of Valor Alumni” ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ†๐Ÿฅ‡

Women of Valor won their 2nd championship in CIBA history on Sunday night in front of a packed crowd at the Arc in Camana Bay. WOV defeated Islanders by one point in game 3 of the best of 3 series.

One could not have asked for a better scenario: a tied series, a game that saw more than 10 lead changes and a single point that separated both teams with only 14 seconds to go.

WOV went on the attack, following a play designed by coach Redver Ebanks. But after an unsuccessful attempt and with 5 seconds to go, Gray pushed the ball ahead to a wide open Seymour who elevated to shoot what would be the title winning basket: but out of nowhere came Rochel Gardener, soaring through the air and blocking Seymour’s shot; snatching away the hopes and Dreams of the Islanders and their incredible fans.

For WOV Chloe Powery and Khailan O’Connor shared and led the charge with 23 points each, Powery grabbed 20 rebounds and 3 steals.

Guiesha Smith grabbed 10 rebounds and added 7 points to the board.

For Islanders: Vicky Gray top scored with 18 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists ad 3 steals.

Geneve Magnon and Charlene Seymour both followed with 15 points eachโ€ฆ.Magnon grabbed 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. Seymour grabbed 7 rebounds.

The final score: Rawlinson & Hunter WOV Alumni 65 Islanders 64.
